Our Canadian friends, Orlando Melbourne International Airport and NASA have something in common. Beginning in mid-December Porter Airlines of Canada will begin direct flights to the Orlando area via Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB).
From the MLB airport NASA’s Kennedy Space Center complex is only a short drive. Our Canadian friends have the distinct honor of building the Canadarm, a valuable piece of equipment used on NASA shuttles.
The Canadarm became a fixture on all future Shuttle missions, and proved to be more useful than even NASA had predicted. It was used to troubleshoot several unexpected situations over the years, such as scraping ice off the bottom of a Shuttle, and rescuing damaged satellites from orbit.
